Abstract
In the present study attempt has been made to check the effect of age on the neuronal count of the Deep Cerebellar Nuclie which are so far u ntouched for such type of studies. The neuronal count in these nuclei revealed that it is the only nucleus Fastigii and nucleus Dentatus in which neuronal loss take place but the nucleus Globosus and nucleus Em boliformis remains unaffected with the age, The purkinjie neurons show ed a significant lass with age. Out of the five Motor Cortex layers on ly layer IV and layer V showed a significant pyramidal cell loss. The cervical spinal cord did not show any change in the neuronal count wit h advancement of age, Thus it is concluded in the present study that t he neuronal loss with age is very much region specific.
