This paper concerns the RCS of an object over a perfectly conducting g
round plane or a lossy dielectric such as sea water. We use physical o
ptics to compute reflections from objects made up of flat surfaces. We
identify seven different paths for the reflected rays. They include s
ingle and double reflections from the object and the ground plane. We
compare our results with results based upon moment-method-based codes
such as NEC (Numerical Electromagnetic Code) and JUNCTION. (C) 1998 Jo
