Abstract
Lithium zirconate powder reacts immediately with ambient CO2 in the ra
nge of 450 to 550 degrees C. Moreover, the products react and return r
eversibly to lithium zirconate at temperatures above 650 degrees C. Ut
ilizing this reaction, the possibility of a CO2 separation system whic
h operates at around 550 degrees C is suggested. A CO2 separation proc
ess operable at temperatures beyond 500 degrees C may have a special b
enefit, because the separation can be achieved directly during the fue
l reforming process, where high CO2 concentration is expected.
