Abstract
Adsorption of tyrosine and serine at the Hg/solution and air/solution interface was studied by means of differential capacity and surface te nsion measurements. In the case of Hg/solution interface, the experime ntal data were analysed to obtain the surface excess and adsorption pa rameters as a function of the electrode charge density and the bulk co ncentration of the adsorbate. In the case of the free surface, only qu alitative analysis was provided due to very small adsorption effects a t this interface. The role of the pi electrons of the benzene ring in the adsorption process is discussed. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
