A. Ducret et al., CHIRAL HIGH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY RESOLUTION OF IBUPROFENESTERS, Journal of pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis, 16(7), 1998, pp. 1225-1231
TWO cellulose-based chiral stationary phases (Chiralcel OD and Chiralc
el OJ) were compared on their ability to resolve various aliphatic ibu
profen esters. Chiralcel OJ with hexane as the mobile phase allows for
the separation of most of the esters. Observed changes in resolution
depending on the solute nature (basicity of the solute, esterified alc
ohol chain length, presence of a double bond) are discussed. An exampl
e of the application of this method for following the kinetic resoluti
on of racemic ibuprofen is presented. Crown copyright (C) 1998 Publish
