Abstract
From a pilot research study in a family service agency in Singapore, t he authors identified four key factors in understanding positive chang e versus no change in multilevel systemic work with low-income, stress ed families: family lifecycle stage, type of problems or crisis, worke r continuity and skills, and resources in the local community. The fin dings raise important questions for both practical and future knowledg e building, suggesting that systemic work with low-income, stressed fa milies can be effective.
