Abstract
The behaviour of new cationic amphiphilic copolymers derived from 3-vi nylpyridine was studied in aqueous medium. The formation of hydrophobi c microdomains was evidenced by fluorescence spectroscopy using a mole cular rotor as a fluorescent probe and their structure was visualized by cryo-transmission electron microscopy (Cryo-TEM). The parameters (s hape and size) obtained from Cryo-TEM were discussed in relation to th e copolymers composition and to the local viscosity defined by the rot or fluorescence quantum yield.
