Abstract
One hundred and thirty four dikaryotic isolates of Ganoderma, morpholo gically determined as G. adspersum, G. annulare, G. applanatum, G. bro wnii, G. lobatoideum, G. lobatum, G. lucidum, G. oerstedii, G. resinac eum, and G. tornatum, were examined by horizontal PAGE for eight enzym atic activities. A total of 94 bands were analysed. The objective was to evaluate the relatedness among the specific taxa by analysing numer ically the isoenzymic patterns. To discern fungal individuals somatic incompatibility tests were used. Within each enzyme system several all ozyme phenotypes could be observed. The enzymic systems analysed faile d to yield diagnostic bands for each morphologically defined group, ex cept the AKP system for G, resinaceum. Some bands were shared by all t he isolates studied. On the other hand, diagnostic bands at the specie s complex level were encountered.
