Abstract
Local solutions of a magnetic field with non-zero magnetic helicity ar e derived in studying the kinematic-dynamo problem. The time evolution of the magnetic helicity is discussed in comparison with that of the magnetic energy. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
