Abstract
The velocity modulation laser absorption technique was employed to obt ain the spectrum of the (15,8) band of the A(2) Pi(u)-X-2 Sigma(g)(+) system of N-2(+) and a rotational analysis was performed. Rotational c onstants for the upper vibrational level were derived. The determined molecular constants of the (15, 8) band combined with values determine d earlier from other directly observed bands at lower upsilon' numbers were used in a vibrational analysis of the A-X band system. The vibra tional temperature of N-2(+) in the plasma discharge was determined. ( C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
