Mr. Geller et G. Vignale, EQUILIBRIUM CURRENT AND ORBITAL MAGNETIZATION IN THE QUANTUM HALL FLUID, Physica. B, Condensed matter, 212(3), 1995, pp. 283-288
We present a general theory for the equilibrium current distribution i
n a two-dimensional interacting electron gas, subjected to a perpendic
ular magnetic held, and confined by a potential that varies slowly on
the scale of the magnetic length. The distribution is found to general
ly consist of strips or channels of current, which alternate in direct
ion, and which have universal integrated strengths.
