Abstract
Reactions of 3-aroylmethyleneindol-2(H)-ones 4 with ethylenediamine an d o-phenylenediamine have been investigated for the; first time leadin g to novel system of spiro compounds 5 and 8 respectively. Schiffs bas es 6 and 9 have also been isolated and properly characterized.
