Abstract
The Wurtz-Fittig method of silylation of simple vinyl halides to vinyl silanes is extended to aminosubstituted vinyl halides. 2-Halo-3-morpho linylcycloalkenes can be silylated to the corresponding 1 2-trimethyls ilyl-3-morpholinyl-1-cycloalkenes using excess of chlorotrimethylsilan e and sodium in dioxane solvent without significant cleavage of C-N-mo rpholinyl bond under these metal reduction conditions. Similar success was not achieved with piperidinyl derivatives.
