Abstract
Acanthus illicifolius, a mangrove, possessing analgesic and anti-infla mmatory activities afford a dimeric oxazolinone, 5,5' bis-benzoxazolin e-2,2'-dione. Its structure has been elucidated on the basis of detail ed spectroscopic analysis.
