K. Hogari et al., OPTICAL-FIBER DISTRIBUTION FOR BUSINESS BUILDINGS EMPLOYING PIPE CABLE AND FIBER BLOWING, IEICE transactions on communications, E81B(3), 1998, pp. 597-603
This paper describes the fiber unit blowing length of an optical fiber
distribution system for business buildings which employs pipe cable,
fiber units and the fiber unit blowing technique. The relationship bet
ween the applied force and the length of a fiber unit blown into a str
aight pipe is investigated theoretically and experimentally and the fi
ber unit blowing length is estimated. Moreover, the pipe bending radiu
s which has a small bending resistance force is clarified. Cables, fib
er units and unit blowing equipment are manufactured based on the resu
lts and their transmission and mechanical characteristics are confirme
d to be stable.
