The behaviour of suspended hydroxyapatite (HAP) in [Ag(NH3)(2)]F solut
ions was studied at boiling temperature. Silver phosphate was always o
btained as a reaction product and no further conversion was observed a
fter 24 hour of reaction. Insoluble calcium fluoride was formed only f
or high fluoride concentration (0.041 mol/l). When lactic acid was pre
sent, an additional formation of silver oxide was proved to occur in t
his paper the corresponding stoichiometries are suggested for both cas
es.
