Abstract
We consider problems an application of databases for information suppo rt of metrology. We present a comparison of the characteristics of dif ferent types of database management. Our emphasis is on the need ra us e document-factographic databases in the problems under consideration. We describe the capabilities of the PCBIRS 3.0 system. tts an example we consider the database containing data on the Stare register of mea surement instrument.
