Abstract
The effect of an alcoholic extract of P. cerasoides Bedd., A. muricata Linn., M. heyneana Thw. and P. nyctaginifolia Juss. on cold immobiliz ation stress induced gastric ulceration was investigated in albino rat s, All these indigenous drugs effectively protected stress induced gas tric ulceration. However, of these drugs, the extract of P. cerasoides exhibited maximum gastric ulcer protective activity. (C) 1998 John Wi ley & Sons, Ltd.
