The 2-amino-5-nitropyridinium dihydrogenphosphate/arsenate (2B5NPDP((1
-x))As-x) solid solution offers the opportunity to adjust the NLO prop
erties of these hybrid organic-inorganic materials. This continuous so
lid solution has been structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction.
In order to overcome the problem of the preferential deposition of th
e phosphate anions compared with the arsenate ones during the growth o
f the 2A5NPDP((1-x))As-x crystals, a new solution growth reactor has b
een perfected. The vertical temperature gradient method allows a simul
taneous growth of several (8-10) large crystals. Their good crystallin
e quality has been confirmed by synchrotron X-ray diffraction topograp
