Abstract
Compounds with yttrium totally or partially substituted by gadolinium in High-T-c superconductor YBa2Cu3O7 were prepared. The superconductiv ity is not affected by this substitution. An orthorhombic structure ha s been observed in GdBa2Cu3O7 sintered and single crystals. The EPR me asurements show linewidth dependence on chemical preparation in GdBa2C u3O7. In Gd-low concentration compounds (x less than or equal to 0.02) a narrow parasite signal, due to the Y2BaCuO5 green phase, appears su perimposed to the principal Gd3+ ions EPR line.
