Abstract
Single crystal X-ray diffraction data reveal that the compound La2BaCu 0.7Pt0.30O5 crystallizes with the Nd2BaPtO5 structural type, (space gr oup P4/mbm, a=b=6.854(2)Angstrom, c=5.878(2)Angstrom and Z=4). Magneti c susceptibility and magnetization measurements reveal a ferromagnetic behavior with a Curie temperature of 10 K.
