Abstract
The mineralizing ability of zinc oxide in the clinkerization of black meal used in the shaft kiln process is compared with that of white mea l for the rotary kiln, and the properties of the cement produced are d iscussed. Zinc oxide exhibits superior activity in clinkerization of b lack meal. Zinc oxide doping lowers the water requirement and prolongs the setting time of the cement. The cement exhibits high early streng th but the strength improvement beyond 7 days is poor. (C) 1998 Elsevi er Science Ltd.
