Abstract
The Backlund transformation is constructed for a nonlinear ordinary di fferential equation (defining a polynomial Hamiltonian associated with the third Painleve equation for gamma = 0 and alpha delta not equal 0 ). The nonlinear functional relationship is derived for solutions to t his equation that correspond to different values of the parameter beta entering it.
