Abstract
The selective and direct introduction of the fluorine atom into the al pha-position of beta-dicarbonyl compounds was electrochemically achiev ed using iodotoluene difluoride as the mediator. The resulting alpha-f luoro-beta-dicarbonyl compounds are important building blocks for biol ogically active compounds. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A.
