Purpose: A technique for perineal cystoprostatectomy with ureterosigmo
idostomy is described as a minimally invasive method to treat muscle i
nvasive bladder cancer. Materials and Methods: We performed 7 perineal
cystoprostatectomies. In the most recent case ureterosigmoidostomy pe
rformed via the perineal approach was the definitive method of urinary
diversion. Results: The operation was well tolerated and minimally in
vasive. Conclusions: Perineal cystoprostatectomy and ureterosigmoidost
omy are effective and minimally invasive means of definitive therapy f
or muscle invasive bladder cancer.
