Abstract
The present report reviews recent advances in mapping the cellular sit es of synthesis and catalytic activity, as well as age-and disease-rel ated changes of monoamine oxidases A and B in the brain. A transgenic model of oxidative stress is also described. The relevance of these fi ndings for the physiological and pathophysiological roles of monoamine oxidases is briefly discussed.
