Abstract
With the intention of finding facile access to sedoheptulose-7-phospha te (1), the behaviour of sedoheptulose as a substrate of yeast hexokin ase was studied. Surprisingly, for the first time the formation of a s econdary phosphate, sedoheptulose-6-phosphate (4), was observed.
