MOLECULAR-FEATURES OF STOMATAL GUARD-CELLS

In the past, regulatory networks in stomatal guard cells have been inv estigated using electrophysiological, Ca2+ and pH imaging, biochemical , and whole-plant (gas exchange) techniques. Only recently have resear chers started to employ molecular genetic approaches to address stomat al physiology. A short overview of recent progress in the current unde rstanding of molecular aspects of guard cells is given here.
