An investigation is made on the effect of wave-trapped (resonant) part
icles on the stimulated scattering of an electromagnetic wave in a pla
sma It is shown that the intensity of the three-wave (two electromagne
tic and one longitudinal) interaction depends on the degree of the ele
ctron distribution function asymmetry relative to the phase velocity o
f the longitudinal wave and the latter amplitude. The intensity may ex
ceed the one calculated neglecting the trapping and it is determined b
y the nonlinearity to the power 3/2 stronger for small amplitudes than
usual quadratic one.
