Abstract
The excess enthalpies of liquid alloys in the ternary system GaSb-Te w ere determined at 1173 K in a heat-flow calorimeter for five sections GaySb1-yTe with y = 0.2, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6 and 0.8. and for the section Ga 0.4Sb0.4-Te at 1073 K. The enthalpy surface in the ternary system is d etermined by a valley of exothermic minima stretching from a minimum a t composition Ga2Te3 to one at composition Sb2Te3 in the binaries. The excess enthalpies in the binary systems were adapted with the associa tion model using the Lukas program. Ternary interactions were taken in to account for the analytical description of the ternary system. (C) 1 998 Elsevier Science B.V.
