Abstract
Four new ternary intermetallic compounds, RPdGe2 with R=Gd, Tb, Dy, Y, were observed by powder X-ray diffraction in alloys are melted and an nealed at 1070 K for 5 days. Their crystal structures were identified as belonging to the YIrGe2 type, Immm space group with lattice paramet ers: a=0.4300(2), b=1.6290(5), c=0.8734(3) nm for YPdGe2; a=0.4333(3), b=1.6363(7), c=0.8775(4) nm for GdPdGe2; a=0.4313(3), b=1.6305(8), c= 0.8738(5) nm for TbPdGe2; and a=0.4298(4), b=1.6271(8), c=0.8720(4) nm for DyPdGe2.
