Abstract
4-Methyl-4-tribromomethylcyclohexa-2,5-diene-1-one reacts with zinc du st in absolute DMF to give a mixture of 4-bromo-5-methylcyclohepta-2,4 ,6-trien-1-one, 4-methylcyclohepta-2,4,6-trien-1-one, and 4-dibromomet hyl-4-methylcyclohexa-2,5-dien-1-one.
