Aa. Murzin et al., SUPERCRITICAL-FLUID EXTRACTION OF URANIUM AND TRANSURANIUM AND RARE-EARTH ELEMENTS FROM SURFACES OF SOLIDS, Radiochemistry, 40(1), 1998, pp. 47-51
Supercritical CO2-fluid extraction of uranyl nitrate and europium nitr
ate complexes with neutral mono-and bifunctional organophosphorus comp
ounds was studied. Uranyl nitrate is extracted by supercritical CO2 fl
uid in the presence of butyl 3,3,4,4-tetrafluoro-2-methylbut-2-yl meth
ylphosphonate to 62-72% and in the presence of tributyl phosphate only
to 35-45%. Air-dry uranyl, plutonium, and americium nitrates are extr
acted with supercritical CO2 fluid containing tributyl phosphate, hexa
fluoroacetylacetone, and water from the surface of stainless steel, ru
bber, and asbestos to 75-97%.
