We consider paradigms for modelling grazing systems under realistic as
sumptions including the effects of delays. We consider, using lineariz
ed theory and Liapunov theory, the stability of steady-state positive
solutions of each model. The models reflect the fact that, when prey i
s sufficiently abundant, the growth rate of predators is independent o
f the prey and, when predators are overpopulated, predatory effect is
reduced. (C) 1998 IMACS/Elsevier Science B.V.
