Rb. Tiwari et Ll. Dhakar, PRODUCTIVITY AND ECONOMICS OF SUMMER GROUNDNUT (ARACHIS-HYPOGAEA) AS AFFECTED BY IRRIGATION, FERTILIZERS AND WEED-CONTROL, Indian Journal of Agronomy, 42(3), 1997, pp. 490-494
A field experiment aimed to evolve efficient and economically viable i
rrigation schedule, fertilizer level and weed-control method for impro
ving productivity of summer groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) was conduc
ted on sandy-loam soil, during summer season of 1993 and 1994. Irrigat
ion applied at 0.70 IW : CPE resulted in higher yield as well as net r
eturns. Further increase in irrigation frequency up to 1.0 IW : CPE di
d not show significant yield advantage over 0.70 IW : CPE. Similarly s
ignificant response of fertilizer was obtained up to 30 and 60 kg N an
d P2O5/ha. Amongst weed-control methods, pendimethalin + earthin at 30
days after sowing proved most effective.
