We have studied the effect of isothermal quenching conditions on the p
hysicomechanical properties of carbon and medium-carbon low-alloy stee
ls U8A, 65G, 50KhFA, 40KhSh, 70S2KhA, 38KhS, 30KhGSA, 35KhGSA, 30KhGSN
a, EI643. We have compared the isothermally quenched steels with the p
roperties obtained after conventional (with continuous cooling) quench
ing and tempering. We consider the feasibility of nondestructive quali
ty control for articles made of these steels using their magnetic para
meters.
