Abstract
A study is made of the effect of the content of carbon and alloying el ements and microstructural factors on the coercivity H-c of annealed a nd normalized steels with the a carbon content of 0.06-1.7%. It is sho wn that it is possible to determine H-c for tube steels by calculation using only data on carbon and manganese contents. It is also shown th at it is possible to evaluate the structural state of carbon and alloy steels in their initial slate on the basis of the value of H-c.
