Abstract
This paper presents the main existing theories of light scattering and discusses the limits within which they can be used. It describes prac tical methods for spectrophotometric measurements and their instrument al assurance. The most crucial problems are discussed, including metro logical problems of the spectrophotometry of light-scattering objects. (C) 1998 The Optical Society of America.
