Kms. Khalil et al., SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF CATALYTIC TITANIAS VIA HYDROLYSIS OF TITANIUM-(IV) ISOPROPOXIDE, Colloids and surfaces. A, Physicochemical and engineering aspects, 132(1), 1998, pp. 31-44
Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) studies and nitrogen gas adsorp
tion data were used to investigate textural characteristics of titania
s prepared via calcination, at 400 degrees C/3 h, of the hydrolysis pr
oducts of titanium(IV) isopropoxide in n-heptane or isopropanol solven
t. A variety of titanias (anatase form) were produced with different t
extural characteristics. The nature of these products was controlled l
argely by the synthesis parameters such as water ratio, the addition o
f acetic acid, and the solvent used during the hydrolysis. The resulta
nt microstructure of the solids is correlated with the pertinent prepa
rative conditions. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
