Abstract
We report synthesis of colloidal solutions of ferrite nanoparticles in the surfactant micellar system potassium laurate/1-decanol/water with in its region of nematic order, The obtained ferronematic specimens ar e reversibly oriented by low (less than or equal to 100 Oe) magnetic f ields and retain their transparency and stability for several months.
