We review recent wave-mixing experiments on bulk GaAs at low temperatu
res and on a 10 fs time scale. In this regime electron-LO-Phonon scatt
ering and electron-electron scattering in typical semiconductors are e
xpected to become non-Markovian. Evidence is shown for the case of ele
ctron-LO-phonon interaction. Furthermore very recent 10 fs experiments
employing coherent control over the system are presented. (C) 1998 El
