Sp. Feofilov et al., SELECTIVE LASER SPECTROSCOPY OF RE3-GEL TECHNIQUE PRODUCED AL2O3( ANDMN4+ IN SOL), Journal of luminescence, 76-7, 1998, pp. 217-220
Sol-gel produced nanocrystalline highly porous transparent gamma-Al2O3
doped with RE and TM ions and alpha-Al2O3 ceramics, produced by its a
nnealing, were studied with selective laser spectroscopy techniques. T
he site-selective spectroscopy of RE3+ ions in alpha-Al2O3 reveals tha
t these ions form centers in corundum with one dominating type. The FL
N studies of homogeneous line widths of 5D(0)-F-7(0.1) transition in g
amma- and alpha-Al2O3 extend the low-temperature hole-burning data (Fe
ofilov et al., Phys. Rev. B 54 (1996) 3690). It is shown that Mn4+ -do
ped Al2O3 is potentially effective photochemical hole-burning material
and self-gated persistent hole-burning in alpha-Al2O3:Mn was demonstr
ated. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
