Abstract
We present calculations of several pp scattering cross sections with p otential applications at the CERN LHC. Significantly large rates for t he momentum fraction x, as low as 10(-7), are obtained, allowing for p ossible extraction of quark and gluon densities in the proton and nucl ei down to these small x values provided a detector with good acceptan ce at maximal rapidities is used.
