Abstract
Crystals of the title compound, [Cu(ClO4)(2)(C6H6N2O)(2)], consist of centrosymmetric complex molecules of [Cu(ClO4)2(paa)(2)] linked by hyd rogen bonding (paa is picolinic acid amide or pyridine-2-carboxamide, C6H6N2O), The paa ligands are coordinated through their ring Pa and am ide O atoms to form the base of an elongated octahedron [Cu-N 1.967 (2 ) and Cu-O 1.937 (2) Angstrom]. The axial Cu-O distance is 2,649 (3) A ngstrom. The sparse structural literature on copper(ll)-pyrdine-2-carb oxamide chelate complexes is discussed.
