Abstract
The 1:1 adduct formed between 4,4'-trimethylenedipyridine and 1,3,5-be nzenetricarboxylic acid is a salt, C13H15N2+.C9H5O6-. The components a re linked by a combination of O-H ... O, O-H ... N, N-H ... O and C-H ... O hydrogen bonds into molecular tapes perforated by R-4(4)(38) rin gs: these tapes are connected by further C-H ... O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.
