Abstract
The design and operation of the UK National Marine Analytical Quality Control Scheme is described. The Scheme was in operation for four year s up to 1996, when more formal links with the QUASIMEME programme were established. The results of inter-laboratory tests for the determinat ion of nutrients in water samples and metals, organic compounds in wat ers, sediments and biological samples are summarized.
