Abstract
The sponge Neoguadalupia oregonensis new species is described rom the Upper Triassic Martin Bridge Formation in the southern Wallowa Mountai ns, Oregon. It is the first authenticated Triassic occurrence of the g enus Neoguadalupia, previously known from the Permian of South China a nd suspected to occur in Upper Triassic of Nevada. This discovery prov ides evidence at the generic level of survival of a Lazarus taxon in a n island-are terrane of western North America.
