A monotypical member of the Coriariaceae family: Coriaria ruscifolia,
was chemicaly studied. From the air exposed parts, tutin and coriamyrt
in were isolated, both sesquiterpenlactones were obtained from the chl
orophormic fraction of the ethanolic extract. These metabolites would
be responsibles of the toxicity of the species. Elagic acid and myrice
tin were isolated from the ethyl acetate fraction.
