In this chapter we review recent developments in both theoretical and
experimental aspects of quantum shot noise. We discuss the properties
of shot noise in systems of various sizes from mesoscopic, ballistic,
systems to classical diffusive conductors. In particular we consider t
he effect of the elctron's Fermi statistics on shot noise. In addision
, we discuss shot noise as a tool for charge measurements. The Fractio
nal Quantum Hall system which gives rise to an appearance of new eleme
ntary excitations which carry a smaller charge, hence resulting in a s
uppressed shot noise. (C) 1998 Academic Press Limited.
