Evaluation of several herbicides for the control of alfalfa and red cl
over in a legume-corn no-tin system showed that spring burn-down of th
e legumes may be preferred to fall burn-down. Spring application gave
similar or greater control of these species than fall applications. Tr
eatments with dicamba (3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid) at 0.6 kg h
a(-1) were the most effective in controlling red clover and alfalfa.
